Sept. 8 — As the wait for the release of The Intemperate Sons’ new album continues, the band has released another single from the forthcoming album.
The band premiered its new single, ‘Lake of Poison‘ and its companion video Friday. The song is the fifth single from the band’s forthcoming album, Game of Keep Away. The album most recently produced the single, ‘Faceless Man,‘ in July. Its premiere was preceded by those of three other singles: ‘Game of Keep Away,‘ ‘Way Back When‘ and ‘Unrealized‘.
The musical arrangement featured in ‘Lake of Poison’ once again exhibits the influence of Alice in Chains throughout the song. At the same time, the band leans more in a classic rock direction this time out, giving audiences something of a change of sound and style in comparison to the album’s other singles.
According to information provided about the premiere of the band’s new single and video, the song’s lyrical theme focuses on the familiar topic of a person battling mental health struggles. As the information states the song is “a heavily alternative and trippy journey through the subconscious of a person’s mind paralyzed (in the moment) by fear of what has infected their thoughts. It is a song of dark contemplation and regret.”
As with the band’s other singles, the latest presentation was produced by Amir Derakh (ex-Orgy, Julien-K, Dead By Sunrise).
