April 13 — Independent rock band Cavo returned last week with its latest single and video.
The band premiered its new single, ‘The Shakes‘ and its companion lyric video April 7. The song boasts a wonderfully infectious keyboard-driven arrangement whose subtle tones instantly get stuck in listeners’ ears. That is because of the electronic sense that the keyboard gives the arrangement. The steady time keeping creates its own infectious beat, making for even more enjoyment alongside the power in the vocals.
According to the band, ‘The Shakes’ was “a song that was originally written with a reggae feel but re-imagined by Chris, our guitar player.
The band said of the song’s lyrical theme, it centers on coping with the past and moving forward.
“The song is about struggling and loss and trying to get over those feelings and remembering the good times,” the band said.
The lyric video that accompanies the band’s new single is relatively simple in its presentation. It features the song’s lyrics over what looks like a concrete wall whose paint is chipping. The song plays over the visualization as the lyrics appear.
