Of Mice & Men Announces New Album Details; Debuts Lead Single’s Video

July 27 — Of Mice & Men will tentatively release its new album this fall.

The 10-song record, Tether is scheduled for release Oct. 6 through SharpTone Records. In anticipation of its release the band premiered the video for the record’s lead single, ‘Warpaint‘ Thursday.

The video, shot in black and white, is a straight forward presentation, featuring largely, the band performing its new single on a sound stage designed to look somewhat like a rehearsal room. At points, front man Aaron Pauley stands in front of a green screen, performing his vocals against a cloudy backdrop.

The song’s musical arrangement is a heavy, intense composition, and familiar in its own approach. The screams and crunching guitars exhibited in the song’s verses play against the more melodic choruses, which include Pauley’s clean vocals, with the whole being very similar stylistically to works from the likes of Killswitch Engage. According to Pauley, the approach taken the band took to the new song, “bridges the gap between the OM&M you’ve heard and known.”

He said of the song’s lyrical theme, it “is a heavy and anthemic song about resilience, and rallying the courage to face your fears head on.”

Tether will come more than two years after OM&M’s then most recent album, Echo, which was released in late 2021 through SharpTone. The record was the collection of two EPs the band had released that year, Bloom and Timeless.
