Dokken To Release First New Album In More Than A Decade This Fall; Debuts Album’s Lead Single, Video

Aug. 8 — Veteran rock band Dokken will release its 12th album this fall.

Heaven Comes Down is scheduled for release Oct. 27 through Silver Lining Music. The album will be the band’s first since the release of Broken Bones in 2012. In anticipation of the album’s release, the band debuted the album’s lead single, ‘Fugitive‘ and its companion video Tuesday.

The musical arrangement featured in the band’s new single presents all of the 80s hair rock glory that made Dokken a fan favorite during its heyday complete with all of the big riffs and sounds that were so familiar during that era.

According to band founder and namesake Don Dokken, the song’s lyrical theme is a commentary on the state of the world.

“The inspiration for the lyrics came from what seems to me to be an uncertain world these days,” Dokken said. “It’s an up-tempo Rokker as are many on the album. I don’t know what the future holds for our world, so I decided to take a step back and watch it all unfold… Yes, I guess I’ve become like many these days a fugitive from life. Hence the title!”

The video for the band’s new single features Dokken and company on a variety of sets, including a house in a suburban setting, a night club, and a uniquely lit false forest as the band members perform the new single.
