Bear Within Us Debuts New Single, ‘Down,’ Companion Video

Sept. 8 — Independent hard rock band Bear Within Us unveiled its new single, ‘Down‘ this week.

The band debuted the song and its video Friday, more than two months after the premiere of the group’s then latest single, ‘Devil’s Day‘ and the song’s companion video. The musical arrangement featured in ‘Down’ is a distinct change of style and sound from that featured in ‘Devil’s Day.’ Where ‘Devil’s Day’ presents a style and sound that is more comparable to works from the likes of Godsmack, the arrangement featured in ‘Down’ exhibits a blend of influences from the likes of Saliva and Creed. It makes for an intriguing presentation, but one that is sure to engage listeners.

According to front man Bobby Ruffin, the song’s lyrical theme is meant to deliver an uplifting message of perseverance.

“In a moment when everyone is expected to fall in line, we find true success comes from those prepared to grit their teeth, dig their heels in the ground and bear down,” Ruffin said. “‘Down’ is a song for those who have already been through multitudes of trials and who are standing tall through it all. When the world tries to push we will be the ones who aren’t afraid to push back.”

The video for ‘Down’ is a straight forward presentation. It features the band performing its new single on a darkened sound stage complete with specific lighting and other effects used to heighten the emotion of the song’s impact.
