Sept. 20 — Independent alt-rock act The Shining Hours premiered its latest single this week.
The band debuted its new single, ‘Feeling So Fine‘ Wednesday. The song features a musical arrangement that is easily comparable to works from the likes of The Killers, Modest Mouse and to a slightly lesser extent, Snow Patrol. That is evidenced through its blend of 80s pop rock sounds and more modern indie/college rock approach and sound.
The song’s lyrical theme is that of the all-too-familiar topic of a less than perfect relationship, according to a statement from the band.
“The song inspires bittersweet feelings of being caught up in ephemeral, indulgent relationships that knowingly end up being detrimental in the end,” the statement reads.
Information provided in a news release announcing the song’s premiere adds, “The song openly explores the bittersweet emotions of relationships that ultimately end up being adverse by their very nature.”
The noted theme makes the song’s title and the melancholy mood set through its musical arrangement make far more sense.
