Jan. 9 — Chatham County Line is giving audiences another preview of its forthcoming album, Hiyo.

The preview came Tuesday in the form of the album’s third single, ‘Way Down Yonder‘ and the song’s companion lyric video. The premiere came less than a month after the band premiered the record’s second single, ‘Magic‘ and that song’s companion video. The band unveiled the album’s lead single, ‘Right On Time‘ in November.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Way Down Yonder’ is a reserved, bluesy type composition. Throughout the course of its three-and-a-half-minute run time (three minutes, 35 seconds to be exact), that approach makes the sound and style here immediately comparable to that of various songs from fellow North Carolina-based neo-folk act Delta Rae.

The song’s lyrical theme is, according to information provided about the song, an “old school murder ballad” that “traces the tale of a young couple, a taunting phrase, and ultimately revenge.”

The song’s lyric video is a simple presentation featuring the song’s lyrics over a random background of CG effects.

In other news, the band has announced an extensive new slate of tour dates in support of its new album. The band announced the tour’s initial dates last month. The tour’s schedule is noted below. Tickets are available for the current dates here.
