Jan. 9 — ‘A Prairie Home Companion’ will mark its 50th anniversary this year with a nationwide tour of the beloved National Public Radio program.
The 50th anniversary tour is scheduled to launch Jan. 21 at the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. The performance will be livestreamed for audiences who cannot be there in person to enjoy the show. Access to the livestream can be purchased here.\
Following the Jan. 21 event, the former touring NPR show will make its way to The Moody Theater Feb. 25 in Austin, TX as part of the Austin City Limits Live series
On July 13, the show will have a homecoming of sorts with an event at The Fitzgerald Theater in downtown St. Paul, MN.
The Prairie Home Companion touring show will feature a number of faces familiar to fans of the beloved program including musical director Rich Dworsky and the Guys All-Star Shoes Band, actors Tim Russell, Sue Scott and Fred Newman. A series of special guests will also be part of the tour.
Among those special guests are the likes of Chick Mead and his Grassy Knoll Boys, Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, and Howard Levy.
