March 7 — Independent rock band 13South unveiled its latest single this week.
The band premiered its new single, ‘Reckless‘ Thursday, along with the song’s companion video. The song’s musical arrangement is a clear southern rock style composition that hints at influences of the likes of Black Crowes, The Allman Brothers Band and other acts of that ilk while still maintaining its own unique identity.
13South founding member Chris Blevins said in a prepared statement, the song’s lyrical theme is a love song of sorts that pays homage to a woman.
“’Reckless’ is a short interpretation of my life,” Blevins said. “I went from a partying misfit to meeting the woman I would fall in love with and spend the rest of my life with. I know a lot of people will relate to this song.”
The video for ‘Reckless’ is a simple presentation. It features various nature scenes as the song plays over the visualization.
