March 4 — Julien-K has launched a fundraising effort to pay for the creation of its next album.
The band made the announcement Monday. It has launched an Indiegogo campaign to help pay for the creation of its planned DRK|MODE music collection. The band first made mention of the project last May when it debuted its then latest single, ‘Your Tears Mean Nothing‘ and the song’s companion video. The song was, at the time, said to be expected for inclusion in the project.
Dubbed the DRK|MODE IndieGoGo Campaign, the effort is the band’s sixth Indiegogo campaign, with each previous campaign going to fund each of the band’s existing albums.
The campaign’s initial goal was $10,000 and since that time, the act has far exceeded that expected end, with more than $24,000 raised. That is with a month to go before the campaign’s end. Fans who contribute to the campaign will receive various items, such as copies of the album, T-shirts, signed posters, and even a private Zoom session with the band.

Band founding member Ryan Shuck had the following to say of the group’s latest campaign:
“We really broke the mold and set records with our last campaigns, but at this point we’re extremely cautious with our expectations. Will this campaign be so surprisingly successful? We just don’t know – it’s not a “new” concept anymore. All we can do is unleash our creativity and energy and do the BEST we possibly can to create a compelling and comprehensive world for our fans to participate in. So far, if we focus on that – we have succeeded every time. We have to have faith in our fans.”
