July 30 — Memphis May Fire premiered its latest single this week.
The band unveiled its new single, ‘Necessary Evil‘ Wednesday. The song is the band’s third new single in as many months, having released its latest song, ‘Paralyzed‘ last month. Its predecessor, ‘Chaotic,’ premiered in May.
‘Necessary Evil’ is a stark departure from the band, in regard to the song’s arrangement. That is evidenced clearly in the song’s verses, which present an almost industrial metal feel, what with the pairing of the keyboards and crunching, percussive style guitar riff alongside the biting vocal delivery.
According to front man Matty Mullins, the song’s lyrical theme centers on the topic of mental health so to speak.
“‘Necessary Evil’ is about acknowledging that pain and hardship are integral parts of the human journey,” said Mullins. “It’s about finding strength in adversity and understanding that these experiences shape who we are.”
