Killswitch Engage Premieres Video For New Album’s Latest Single

Jan. 23 — Killswitch Engage offered audiences another preview of its forthcoming album, This Consequence this week.

The band debuted the video for its new single, ‘I Believe‘ Thursday. The premiere came more than a month after the band premiered the video for its then latest single, ‘Forever Aligned.’

The video is a familiar two-part presentation. One part features the band performing its new single on a uniquely designed sound stage. The other part tells the story of a man who is in a dark place, emotionally, but who eventually comes out of that darkness and finds the happiness and beauty around him.

That secondary presentation is in line with the song’s lyrical theme, which front man Jesse Leach discussed in a prepared statement.

“‘I Believe’ is about undying hope,” said Leach. “During difficult times perspective is everything. Knowing deep down that ‘this too shall pass’ has been a beacon of light for me. I do believe there is meaning behind suffering. If we are able to push through difficult times and come out the other side, there is a renewed sense of purpose.”

The musical arrangement featured in the band’s new single is distinctly different from that of its predecessor. Where ‘Forever Aligned’ is a full on, heavy metalcore composition, ‘I Believe’ is much more melodic; almost a radio ready composition along the lines of songs from Three Days Grace. One could even make comparison to some of the songs that the band composed during its time with Howard Jones as its front man.

In other news, Killswitch Engage recently announced a spring tour in support of its new album, set to launch March 5 in Nashville, TN. The tour is scheduled to run through Apr. 12 in Portland, ME. Its schedule is noted below. Tickets will be available here.
