Nov. 15 — Grave Digger fans are getting a taste of the band’s forthcoming album this weekend.
The band premiered its new single, ‘Killing is My Pleasure‘ Friday, along with the song’s visualizer. The song is featured in the band’s forthcoming album, Bone Collector, which is scheduled for release Jan. 17 through Rock of Angels Records, a division of Reigning Phoenix Music. Pre-orders are open.
‘Killing is My Pleasure’ is the second single from Bone Collector. The band debuted the album’s lead single, ‘Kingdom of Skulls‘ last month.
Musically speaking, ‘Killing is My Pleasure’ boasts all of the grit and energy featured in its predecessor. It is a rich composition that will appeal easily to any metal purist.
According to a statement from front man Chris Boltendahl, the song’s lyrical content was inspired by the crimes of an infamous mafia hitman.
“The song’s lyrics are inspired by the infamous mafia contract killer Richard Kuklinski, who was believed to have committed over 200 murders before his death in 2006,” said Boltendahl. “Known as the “Iceman” due to his cold-blooded nature, Kuklinski had a family with three children and would leave his home every day like any ordinary “nine-to-five” worker.”
