Let Me Downs Announces New Album, Tour Details; Premieres Album’s Second Single, Video

Jan. 14 — Punk outfit the Let Me Downs will tentatively release its new album next week.

The band is slated to release its new album, North By Southwest Jan. 23 through the independent record label, Felony Records. In anticipation of its release, the band premiered the record’s second single, ‘Broken Promises,’ early this month, along with the song’s companion lyric video. The band debuted the album’s lead single, ‘One More Round,’ late last month.

As with the album’s lead single, this latest entry takes punk fans back to the pop punk sounds of the 1990s. The comparisons to works from the likes of Sum 41, New Found Glory and MXPX among others. To that end, that familiarity in sound and style is sure to appeal to a targeted audience.

According to Let Me Downs bassist/vocalist Paul Levesque, the lyrical theme featured in this song centers on the all too familiar topic of broken relationships.

“I wrote this song about a past relationship,” said Levesque. “It’s basically about letting your guard down and letting someone in. Putting everything you have and all your trust into a person and at the end of the day you end up getting burned.”

In related news, the Let Me Downs is scheduled to launch a brief tour in support of its new album the same day of its release in Scottsdale, AZ. The tour is scheduled to run through March 22 in Tempe, AZ and includes planned stops in Portland, OR; Seattle, WA and El Segundo, CA as well as other cities.

The tour’s schedule is noted below. North By Southwest will follow the release of the Let Me Downs’ then latest album, Tacoma is For Lovers, which was released in 2021.
