Arch Enemy Debuts New Album’s Fourth Single, Video

Feb. 6 — Arch Enemy gave audiences yet another preview of its forthcoming album this week.

The band premiered the fourth single from the band’s forthcoming album, Blood Dynasty, ‘Paper Tiger,’ and the song’s companion video Thursday. The song is a stark departure for the band, stylistically speaking. That is because instead of the extreme metal sound and style for which the band has come to be known throughout its life, the band has gone old school this time out. The arrangement immediately conjures thoughts of songs from the likes of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the debut of the new single. The lyrics provided with the video hint at the familiar theme of dealing with mental health issues. This is just this critic’s interpretation.

Speaking of the song’s video, it was filmed on a German airfield in summer 2024, according to a statement from the band. It features the band performing its new single on the airfield in different locations as the song plays over the visualization.

‘Paper Tiger’ was preceded by three other singles, most recently the album’s title track. Prior to its release, the album also produced the singles, ‘Liars & Thieves‘ and ‘Dream Stealer.’

Blood Dynasty is scheduled for release March 28 via Century Media. Pre-orders are open.

In other news, Arch Enemy also recently announced a spring tour in support of Blood Dynasty. The tour is scheduled to launch Apr. 14 in San Diego, CA and to run through May 18 Milwaukee, WI. The tour’s schedule also includes stops in cities nationwide, such as Charlotte, NC; Detroit, MI and Seattle, WA.
