Derek Sherinian will join Michael Schenker next January in Japan.
According to a news release distributed Tuesday, Schenker tapped Sherinian (Sons of Apollo, Black Country Communion, ex-Dream Theater) to join him for the tour. Schenker’s upcoming tour of Japan is in support of his recently released compilation/retrospective record, My Years With UFO. The compilation record was released in September 2024 through earMusic. Sherinian then went on to guest on My Years With UFO.
The pair’s upcoming tour is hardly its first time working together. Sherinian made a guest appearance on Schenker’s album, Immortal in 2021. Schenker then turned around and made his own guest appearance on Sherinian’s album, Vortex, in 2022.
