Steve Dadaian is giving audiences another preview of his forthcoming album.
The preview came Tuesday through Metal Injection in the form of his new single, ‘Revenant City.’ The song is the title track from Dadaian’s forthcoming album, which is scheduled for release May 9. Pre-orders are open now.
Additionally, the song is the second single to be released from the album behind ‘Garden of Stars,’ which premiered last month. The song features a guest appearance from Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess.
Dadaian discussed the song’s musical arrangement in a prepared statement.
“‘Revenant City,’ the title track for the album, was also the first song I wrote for it as well,” said Dadaian. “Besides the metal riffs and catchy melodies, I felt the title track should capture the essence of the record the most, which this does in my opinion. The guitar leads span from crystal clean to searing and technical, embodying the feeling I intended in each section.”
Dadaian continued, “The rhythm sections see a similar scope as I wanted to use the full range of the 7-string I played here. The theme that’s presented in the beginning undergoes different variations, a concept found elsewhere on the album.”
