Zac Miranowic Debuts New EP’s Second Single, Video

July 28 — Independent guitarist Zack Miranowic gave audiences another preview of his forthcoming EP, Cryin’ Out, this week.

The preview came in the form of the EP’s new single, ‘Seems Like Yesterday‘ and the song’s companion video. The premiere came more than a month after Miranowic, who is also a member of the independent rock bands Sekond Skyn and Riversend, debuted the EP’s lead single, ‘A Matter of Life and Death‘ and its companion video.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Seems Like Yesterday’ is an engaging and entertaining presentation. That is because of the clear influences exhibited throughout the song. Thanks to the song’s production, the vocals easily lend themselves to comparison to the dual vocal harmony made so famous Alice in Chains vocalist and guitarist Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell. The simple semi-acoustic instrumentation meanwhile also shows comparison to works from Alice in Chains, but also from Zakk Wylde. The southern-tinged style that Miranowic uses is so similar to that which Wylde has used throughout his career with Black Label Society and even his other well-known project, Pride & Glory.

Miranowic talked about the song’s musical and lyrical side during a recent interview.

Like my last single,‘Seems Like Yesterday’ offers something stylistically different than anything I have done under my solo project before,” Miranowic said. “It’s a somber, stripped-down, and acoustically driven tune that deals with the passage of time. There are moments where time creeps up on us and we don’t always know how to process it as it’s happening. We often revert to a time when we felt good, safe, or wish we could have done certain things differently.”

The song’s video is a simple presentation meant to help illustrate the message in the song’s lyrical theme.  It features Miranowic performing his new single as he sits on a bench swing, blue skies and the sun overhead.  The juxtaposition of that visual to the song’s words and the mood that it sets adds well, to the overall presentation’s impact.
