The band announced Friday, it is planning to release its new EP, The Cart Sessions Aug. 9. The record features four songs, according to information in a news release distributed Friday. The EP includes the band’s latest single, ‘Charlie The Stingray‘ as well as its most recent predecessor, ‘Raindrops.‘
The video follows a pair of masked figures (one that looks like a character from Killer Klowns From Outer Space and the other a primate, playing Monopoly and the evil clown soundly winning the game. A picture of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos sits in the middle of the board as the two play the game, which eventually descends into chaos as the instrumental track plays over the visualization.
In anticipation of its release the band recently premiered the album’s latest single, ‘Crushing Blows,’ and the song’s companion video. The song’s musical arrangement is an intense death metal style composition whose growling vocals and crunching guitars exhibit influence from the likes of Whitechapel, Suffocation, and to a slightly lesser degree, Obituary.
