The Lilac Hour Premieres Debut Single, ‘Call Me’

Feb. 22 — Independent alt-rock act The Lilac Hour unveiled its debut single this week.

The band premiered its debut single, ‘Call Me‘ Wednesday. The song immediately lends itself to comparison to works from Oasis. That is obvious in the distinct vocal delivery style and general instrumentation.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme, but in listening through the song, the theme can be inferred to center on a friendship that apparently has gone sour. This is inferred through the song’s chorus, which comments about someone going to Broadway, cynically telling that person to not forget “who I am.”

The single came with a b-side, ‘The Thing’ which is less akin to works from Oasis and more in a general alt-rock stylistic approach. The fuzz from the guitar almost gives the arrangement a touch of a stoner rock vibe at the same time.

No information was provided about this song’s lyrical theme, either.
