April 17 — Independent rock band The Now offered audiences another preview of its forthcoming as yet untitled album this month.
The band debuted its new single, ‘Girl You Got Me‘ and its video April 9. The song and its video are the second from the album, whose title, release date and other details are under consideration. The band premiered the album’s lead single, ‘Devil Inside Me‘ and the song’s companion video in February.
The Now changes things up in its new single in comparison to ‘Devil Inside Me.’ Where that song has an intriguing blend of garage rock and 80s pop rock, the new single boasts more of a blues-rock sensibility along with that garage rock style and sound. It makes the new single just as unique as its predecessor and just as engaging and entertaining in the process.
According to Grammy Award-winning producer Oli Jacobs, who produced the new single centers on the all too familiar topic of coming back from past heartbreaks, lyrically speaking.
“When you believe you’re set not to fall in love again after previous heartaches, that one person comes around and catches you while you’re weak and brings you back to your feet – But at the same time you’re on your knees caught up in love !,” Jacobs said.
The video for the band’s new single is a simple presentation. It features a young woman on a theater stage, the light moving with her. Along with that, the band is featured performing its new single as the song plays over the whole of the visualization. The purpose of showing the young woman with the spotlight focused on her is to highlight that focus that a young man might have when he finds that one person of whom Jacobs spoke.
