In anticipation of the album’s release, the band unveiled the record’s lead single, ‘Born Again‘ Thursday. The post grunge sound and style featured in the song’s musical arrangement is comparable to works from the likes of Deftones, and Hum and Failure. The arrangement’s only concern is the production, as the vocals come across as being washed out by the instrumentation.
According to front man/bassist/guitarist Jason Blackmore, the song is a commentary about religious zealots and other similar personality types who are anything but admirable.
“‘Born Again’ is a song about sinful evil corrupt people that commit crimes or are just plain bad people that think they can turn to religion and be excused or forgiven for their actions,” Blackmore said. “Just like every other song that I write, the music always comes first and the lyrics, vocal melodies and harmonies are the last piece of the puzzle. Musically I just wanted this song to be a short, catchy, in your face rocker.”
Pre-orders for the album’s vinyl pressing are open. The first pressing will be limited to only 300 copies. It will come in a violet/black quintuple stripe design and will come with a full-color printed jacket on reverseboard stock and a full-color printed inner sleeve. Audiences who pre-order the album will receive a free instant grat download of ‘Born Again’ and full album download on Aug. 25.
