Aug. 10 — The Dollyrots is scheduled to release its new album, Night Owl this fall.
The record is scheduled for release Oct. 13 through Wicked Cool Records. In anticipation of its release the band debuted the album’s lead single/title track and the song’s companion video Thursday. The song’s musical arrangement is a catchy, upbeat composition whose vocal harmonies, catchy hooks and choruses are sure to appeal to so many rock fans, even those who might be less familiar with the work of The Dollyrots.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the details of the band’s new album, single, and video. The lyrics provided with the video hint at a theme of celebrating simply going out at night and having fun. That is just this critic’s interpretation.
Speaking of the video, it is a lyric video. It features the song’s lyrics over footage of the dup in the studio while the song plays over the visualization.
