Velvet Chains Releases Video For Its Latest Single, ‘I Am The Ocean’

Sept. 6 — Independent rock act Velvet Chains debuted the video for its latest single this summer.

The band premiered the video for its single, ‘I Am The Ocean‘ in late July. The premiere of the song and its video came on the heels of a tour of South America alongside Stone Temple Pilots and The Winery Dogs.

The musical arrangement featured in Velvet Chains’ new single is immediately comparable to works from the likes of Daughtry, Nickelback, and other more well-known mainstream acts of that ilk. That is made obvious through its catchy infectious hooks and choruses, making it an easy fit for any mainstream active rock radio programmer’s playlist.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the video’s premiere. The lyrics provided with the video hints at the theme centering on the all-too-familiar topic of mental health and how it impacts a person’s potential relationships with others. That is just this critic’s interpretation.

The video, directed by Brian Cox (Bring Me The Horizon, The Used, Hollywood Undead), was shot in the band’s home city of Las Vegas. It features the band performing its new single on a sound stage dressed to have something of a futuristic look what with its unique lighting. The band’s new single plays over the visualization as the band performs.
