June 7 — Fresh off the heels of wrapping the North American leg of its “Somewhere Far Beyond Tour,” Blind Guardian has announced plans to re-issue its 1992 album by the same name.
The band made the announcement Friday through a news release. Dubbed Somewhere Far Beyond Revisited, the record was recorded between 2022-2023. The forthcoming re-issue is scheduled for release Aug. 2 through Nuclear Blast Records.
In anticipation of the record’s release, the band unveiled the video for one of the album’s tracks, ‘The Quest For Tanelorn‘ Friday. The video features vintage video of the band on stage and in the studio as the song plays over the visualization.
The forthcoming re-issue of Somewhere Far Beyond will release on a limited 2CD/Blu-ray set, which features a bonus live disc and blu-ray. The Blu-ray features sets that the band performed at Hellfest 2022 and Rock Hard Festival 2022.
The re-issue will also release as a gatefold LP vinyl and single disc CD. The vinyl pressing will feature a 24-page booklet.
