Oct. 18 — The Intemperate Sons has reached into The Rolling Stones’ expansive catalogue for its latest single.
The band premiered its take of The Rolling Stones’ classic song ‘Dead Flowers‘ Thursday. The song is a stark departure for the band considering the vintage grunge sound and stylistic approach that the band took on so much of its album, Dark Day’s Night. As an added note, the song is a standalone work, as it is not included in that recently released album.
The Intemperate Sons’ take of ‘Dead Flowers’ will impressive the band’s own fans and those of The Rolling Stones. That is because the song stays so close to its source material, putting out the same country western sound and style as The Rolling Stones’ original. At the same time, the band also gives the song (which originally appeared on The Rolling Stones’ 1971 album, Sticky Fingers) a little bit of a modern touch while still paying homage to the original. The overall composition is well worth hearing.
