Jan. 9 — Fans of legendary comedian Ernie Kovacs will mark the anniversary of his birth later this month in a special way.
The Estate of Ernie Kovacs announced Thursday, the final episode of his hit game show Take a Good Look will stream at 7 p.m. EST Jan. 23 on the Clown Jewels YouTube channel. It will mark the first time in 65 years that the episode has aired or streamed anywhere. Edie Adams’ son, Josh Mills and Kovacs archivist Ben Model will take part in a live chat during the stream, taking questions from fans.
As an added tribute to Kovacs’ legacy, a new recording titled Mayhem in the AM: The Lost Radio Comedy of Ernie Kovacs is scheduled for release Jan. 24, the day after the stream. It will release on all audio platforms.
The forthcoming presentations are part of a new distribution agreement between Ediad Productions and Clown Jewels, which is among the world’s leading legacy comedy media imprints. Further vintage Kovacs collections are expected for release this year through the partnership.
