Independent hard rock outfit Ashes To Omens premiered its new single, ‘The Tide’ and the song’s companion video over the weekend.
The band debuted its new single, ‘The Tide‘ Friday, along with the song’s powerful companion video. The song’s musical arrangement is a heavy, deeply emotional presentation whose blend of aggro-rock and hard rock makes it a presentation that will engage and entertain a wide range of audiences.
The song’s video is powerful in its own right as it tells the story of a man dealing with the pain of losing a loved one. He is so torn by the woman’s death that he reaches the edge of taking his own life before her spirit stops him at the last moment. This as the band performs its new single on an undisclosed beach front.
The band addressed the story in the video as it pertains to the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.
“As mental health advocates, it was important for us to showcase the desperation that the protagonist is going through in the video,” the statement reads in part. “That people understand that loss is hard, but it’s normal. That grief can be overwhelming, but you’re not alone. So we wanted that character to be isolated in every shot in some way, but also having the nuance of him never actually being alone.”
The statement continues, noting ‘The Tide’ is the fourth single from the band’s forthcoming EP, which is due for release in May. No information was provided regarding the EP’s release date and title in the statement.
In other news, Ashes To Omens has a handful of live dates upcoming. The band’s upcoming tour schedule launches May 17 in Athens, GA and includes performances in cities, such as Anderson, SC; Comer, GA and Loganville, GA.
